A Private European-Style Billiards Lounge

The Regent’s Club is designed as a private upper-level lounge inspired by classic European billiards rooms and traditional gentlemen’s clubs, where the pace slows, conversation matters, and the game is played properly.

At the center of the room is an OLHAUSEN 8-foot 30th Anniversary solid wood pool table, a name immediately recognized by those who understand true billiards craftsmanship.

This is not a standard table. It is a furniture-grade, heirloom-quality build.

The frame is constructed as a unified piece, with continuous carved hardwood skirts featuring intricate scrollwork in a royal, Victorian-inspired style reminiscent of Louis XVI-era design. The level of carving and detail gives the table a presence more commonly found in fine furniture than in a typical game room.

The table is finished with Simonis cloth, widely regarded as the gold standard in billiards for its speed, consistency, and professional-level performance. Beneath it, a three-piece Italian slate playing surface provides a true, stable foundation, while Olhausen’s Accu-Fast cushions deliver precise, predictable rebound across the entire table.

The rails are inlaid with genuine mother-of-pearl sights crafted from real shell, subtly shifting in color depending on the light and viewing angle. Leather drop pockets with traditional tassels complete the table, reinforcing its classic, old-world aesthetic.

Installation was performed on-site by two Orlando master billiards technicians. The slate was carefully set, joined, and finished using traditional techniques, including heat and beeswax sealing, ensuring a seamless playing surface and long-term structural integrity. The entire process was documented, capturing the level of craftsmanship involved.

During the build and installation, we were in direct contact with Colby Olhausen, Vice President of Manufacturing at OLHAUSEN Billiard Manufacturing, a family-owned company and a recognized leader in the industry, with representation on the Billiard Congress of America Board of Directors.

Surrounding the table, the room is arranged as a proper lounge rather than a casual game space. High-back Chesterfield seating anchors the room, while additional leather stools are positioned throughout, allowing flexible seating for gameplay, spectating, conversation, or whiskey tasting.

Whether guests are actively playing, sitting in on a match, enjoying a drink, or simply talking, the space adapts easily without losing its character.

Dedicated table lighting, a wall-mounted TV, and a whiskey glass sipping and tasting area complete the setting.

This is a space built for those who recognize quality without needing it explained.
